Overview
Our client is looking for an experienced Compliance Manager (Health & Social Care) to work on a part-time basis for a CQC-approved home care agency operating across England and Wales. In this hands-on role, you will help maintain and strengthen the company's compliance framework to ensure operational practices align with CQC requirements, UK legislation, and internal quality standards. This opportunity is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who can work independently to conduct audits, manage documentation, and support inspection readiness. By ensuring strict regulatory alignment, you will play a vital role in supporting safe, high-quality care for elderly individuals and clients with complex needs.
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM BST (20 hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Monitor ongoing compliance with relevant CQC regulations, standards, expectations, and the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
- Support the company in maintaining inspection readiness, managing compliance evidence, and tracking legislative updates.
- Review, update, and maintain practical company policies and compliance documentation to ensure consistent implementation.
- Identify policy gaps and maintain a structured compliance calendar for reviews, audits, renewals, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular internal audits and spot checks across care documentation, staff records, and risk assessments.
- Identify non-conformities, evaluate compliance risks, and track corrective action plans through to completion.
- Monitor staff documentation to ensure mandatory training, qualifications, DBS checks, and right-to-work files are up to date.
- Collaborate with management to identify and mitigate compliance risks relating to recruitment, onboarding, and deployment.
- Support the monitoring of safeguarding processes, ensuring appropriate documentation and escalation protocols are followed.
- Review incidents, complaints, accidents, and safeguarding concerns to identify trends and recommend preventative actions.
- Support organizational compliance with UK GDPR, reviewing how confidential client and employee information is managed.
- Maintain data protection policies, procedures, and records, and proactively identify and escalate potential privacy risks.
- Prepare regular compliance reports, dashboards, trackers, and action logs to keep senior management updated on key risks.
- Assist with preparing official documentation for external audits, Local Authority requirements, and CQC engagement.
