Our client is a busy dental practice in the United States looking for a skilled remote professional to support its growing administrative workload. The role will work closely with the existing front desk team by handling backend tasks such as insurance verification, claims follow-up, patient information management, and administrative support.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Dental Insurance & Administrative Specialist to support the practice's day-to-day administrative operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on dental office experience, strong knowledge of dental terminology, and proven experience with insurance verification and claims follow-up. This role requires excellent attention to detail, responsiveness, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accurate patient records and supporting a busy front desk team.

Schedule

  •  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 11 AM–7 PM and Friday, Saturday 9 AM to 3pm CST

Responsibilities

  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits using the practice management system.
  • Follow up on unpaid and outstanding insurance claims to support timely reimbursement.
  • Review new patient information and ensure all required details are collected accurately.
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Support the front desk team with backend administrative tasks.
  • Review insurance information carefully to minimize errors and avoid unnecessary follow-up with patients.
  • Handle new patient calls when needed, following established protocols to collect required information.
  • Assist with appointment reminders and patient follow-ups.
  • Communicate with the internal team regarding insurance verification, patient information, and outstanding tasks.
  • Follow established procedures and learn the practice's systems and workflows.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a dental office or dental administration.
  • Hands-on experience with dental insurance verification and eligibility checks.
  • Proven experience following up on unpaid and outstanding dental insurance claims.
  • Hands-on experience using dental practice management software/systems.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, insurance terminology, and dental office workflows.
  • Experience maintaining accurate patient and insurance records.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling patient and insurance information.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Comfortable handling patient phone calls when required.
  • Highly organized, responsive, and able to work independently.
  • Comfortable learning and adapting to the client's specific practice management system and workflows.
  • Reliable internet connection and professional remote-work setup.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience handling new patient calls in a dental practice.
  • Experience with remote phone systems or VoIP platforms.
  • Familiarity with multiple dental practice management systems.
  • Previous experience working as a Dental Virtual Assistant.
