About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Digital Marketing & Client Success Specialist to support a growing business.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining digital marketing, social media, content creation, client relationship management and project coordination.
The core purpose of the role is to take ownership of day-to-day marketing delivery across multiple client accounts: turning strategy into clear briefs and action plans, coordinating delivery, keeping deadlines moving, quality-checking work and handling routine client communication without needing constant direction.
The successful candidate will support existing team members and manage appropriate client relationships, helping to give the business owner more time to focus on growth and new business. The role should remove routine work and day-to-day delivery decisions from the business owner, rather than create another layer of management.
Schedule
- UK business hours, generally between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM UK time; 20 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
Client, Delivery & Project Management
- Act as a key point of contact for routine client communications and selected client relationships, building strong professional relationships.
- Regularly check in with clients where appropriate, understand their needs and ensure they are happy with delivery.
- Own and maintain the delivery calendar across multiple client accounts, prioritising competing deadlines and keeping work moving without waiting to be prompted.
- Turn agreed marketing strategy and direction into clear briefs, actions and deliverables for yourself and other team members.
- Coordinate projects, deadlines, assets and deliverables with internal team members, including briefing and supporting other team members where required.
- Support the wider team with varied digital marketing and client delivery tasks as priorities change, including stepping into hands-on execution where needed while maintaining ownership of core responsibilities.
- Identify missing information, delivery risks or potential issues early and resolve them proactively, escalating only where strategic, commercial or client-sensitive input is required.
- Review and QA marketing deliverables before they reach the business owner or client, checking accuracy, copy, links, formatting, brand consistency and completion against the brief.
- Use sound judgement to decide what can be handled independently and what genuinely needs escalation.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and flag appropriate upsell or growth opportunities.
- Provide guidance, practical support and direction to other team members where required.
Digital Marketing & Social Media
- Manage and support social media activity across relevant client channels, including LinkedIn, TikTok and Facebook where applicable.
- Create, schedule and publish engaging content where hands-on execution is required.
- Repurpose video, written and visual content across platforms.
- Monitor performance, identify what is and is not working, and recommend practical improvements.
- Support audience engagement, comments, DMs and proactive community activity where this forms part of a client's agreed scope.
Content & Design
- Support hands-on creation of social media graphics and marketing materials using Canva and similar tools where required.
- Edit short-form videos and images.
- Create digital, print, booklet and WhatsApp marketing materials where required.
- Use AI tools intelligently to improve the speed and efficiency of research, drafting and production.
- Balance pace with accuracy, maintaining a consistently high standard without unnecessary overworking.
Email & Digital Support
- Manage and support email marketing campaigns and newsletters.
- Help maintain email marketing databases, segmentation and campaign accuracy.
- Make basic updates to WordPress/Elementor where required.
- Support website and digital content updates.
- Assist with routine reporting and performance updates so client activity can be reviewed and improved.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' hands-on digital marketing experience in a professional role. This must include practical delivery across several areas of digital marketing rather than purely social media, design or administrative support.
- Demonstrable experience managing marketing activity across multiple client accounts or workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong practical digital marketing knowledge – not simply content production or Canva experience.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the confidence to communicate professionally with UK-based clients.
- Strong client-facing and relationship management skills.
- Experience coordinating projects, deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to quality-check work before it reaches a client.
- Good marketing judgement: able to identify gaps, ask intelligent questions and make sensible day-to-day decisions independently.
- Comfortable learning new systems and working across different client processes and platforms.
- Experience with Canva or similar design tools.
- Comfortable with basic video editing.
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently, take ownership and follow tasks through to completion without constant direction.
- Commercially aware and comfortable identifying opportunities to improve or grow client relationships.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with email marketing platforms such as Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot, Klaviyo or similar.
- WordPress and Elementor experience.
- Adobe Creative Suite experience.
- Experience with AI-powered marketing/design tools.
- Marketing agency, consultancy or professional services experience.
- Experience mentoring, briefing, supporting or coordinating other team members.
- Experience with project-management or CRM tools such as Monday.com, HubSpot or similar.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is proactive, confident, commercially minded and hands-on.
You should be comfortable wearing multiple hats, communicating directly with clients, managing projects and getting involved in the actual marketing work.
Marketing judgement, organization, initiative and ownership are more important in this role than being a specialist designer or social media creator.
The ideal candidate will also be a genuine digital marketing all-rounder who is happy to assist across the wider team's workload when required, rather than seeing particular delivery tasks as outside their remit.
Portfolio
Please provide examples of social media, Canva/design, video editing, email marketing, website, or other digital marketing work.
Growth Opportunity: Starts at 20 hours/week, with potential to become full-time as the business grows.
Independent Contractor Perks
- Permanent Work from Home
- Immediate Hiring
