About the Role
The Company is seeking an experienced B2B Marketing Manager – Construction & Engineering to take ownership of the company’s overall marketing strategy and support marketing activity across its group of companies. This is a commercially focused role for a marketing generalist/strategist who can coordinate internal teams and external specialists, manage marketing activity across multiple channels, and ensure that all marketing initiatives work together to generate quality enquiries, sales opportunities and profitable growth.
The successful candidate will work alongside existing specialists rather than duplicating their responsibilities. Webflow development and technical website maintenance are handled internally, while Google Ads/PPC and SEO are managed by an external specialist agency. The Marketing Specialist will provide the strategic, marketing and UI/UX direction, coordinate these resources, monitor performance and ensure activity remains aligned with the marketing strategy. There will be a handover from the previous Marketing Manager covering the existing strategy, supplier relationships and current marketing activity.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 2:30 pm (UK Time, 22.5 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Marketing Strategy & Planning
- Develop, maintain and implement the annual marketing strategy.
- Identify priority sectors, audiences and commercial opportunities.
- Develop campaigns aligned with business objectives and sales priorities.
- Coordinate internal and external marketing resources.
- Continuously review and adapt marketing plans based on performance and commercial priorities.
- Establish and maintain a clear 90-day marketing action plan with the Directors.
2. Lead Generation & Marketing Performance
- Take overall ownership of the marketing contribution to lead generation.
- Coordinate paid, organic, social, email and content marketing activities.
- Work with external PPC/SEO specialists to review performance and agree priorities.
- Understand marketing data sufficiently to challenge results and identify opportunities.
- Ensure marketing activity is focused on qualified enquiries, conversion and sales opportunities rather than activity alone.
3. CRM Management – HubSpot
- Manage the marketing side of the company’s HubSpot CRM.
- Maintain CRM data quality and pipeline visibility.
- Manage lead allocation, segmentation, marketing lists and follow-up processes.
- Develop and manage marketing workflows and campaigns.
- Ensure the CRM effectively supports both marketing and sales activity.
- Use CRM data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
- HubSpot experience is highly desirable, although strong experience with a comparable CRM will be considered.
4. Website & UI/UX Marketing Support
- Work alongside the Webflow developer to provide marketing and UI/UX direction.
- Identify requirements for landing pages, case studies and website content.
- Review conversion journeys, forms and calls to action.
- Brief the web developer on required marketing and content changes.
- Ensure website content supports lead generation and overall marketing objectives.
5. SEO & PPC Oversight
- Work with the external PPC/SEO specialist to monitor strategy and performance.
- Understand Google Ads/PPC and SEO principles, keyword strategy and performance reporting.
- Review results and identify areas requiring improvement.
- Ensure SEO activity is aligned with the marketing strategy.
- Coordinate internally produced content with the agreed SEO strategy.
6. Social Media Management
- Initially take ownership of social media strategy, standards and content planning.
- Develop and maintain a social media content calendar.
- Coordinate social content and ensure consistency with the marketing strategy.
- Support and train the new junior social media team member.
- Establish appropriate processes before progressively handing over routine social media activity while retaining strategic oversight.
7. Content Creation
- Create and coordinate high-quality marketing content, including:
- Case studies and project write-ups
- Brochures and presentations
- Capability statements
- Tender and bid support materials
- Recruitment campaigns
- Email content
- Social media content
- Technical and sector-specific content
- Provide practical design and creative support where required.
- Ensure content is professional, commercially relevant and aligned with brand standards.
8. Email Marketing
- Plan and deliver targeted email marketing campaigns through HubSpot.
- Develop campaigns covering project updates, case studies, technical content, company news and sector-specific topics.
- Manage audience segmentation and targeted mailing lists.
- Monitor open rates, click-through rates, enquiries and resulting opportunities.
- Continuously improve email performance based on analytics.
9. Business Development & Sales Support
- Work closely with Business Development, Sales and Estimating teams.
- Develop targeted campaigns that support sales objectives.
- Create sales presentations, capability statements and client communications.
- Provide marketing support for tenders and bids.
- Develop materials that help convert opportunities and generate repeat business.
10. Brand Management
- Maintain consistency across marketing materials and communications.
- Act as a point of control for brand-related requirements.
- Ensure new content and marketing materials adhere to established brand standards.
11. Analytics & Monthly Reporting
- Prepare a clear monthly marketing report for the Directors.
- Monitor and report on:
- Website performance and enquiries
- Lead sources
- Conversion performance
- Marketing spend and ROI
- Google Ads/PPC and SEO performance
- Social media performance
- Email marketing performance
- CRM and pipeline indicators
- Provide clear recommendations and agreed actions for the following month.
12. Competitor & Market Analysis
- Conduct a structured competitor review every six weeks.
- Monitor competitor:
- Services and positioning
- Websites
- Advertising
- SEO visibility
- Social media activity
- Recruitment activity
- Industry developments
- Identify competitive threats, market gaps and growth opportunities for the company and the group.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
- Proven experience in a marketing generalist, marketing specialist or marketing strategist role.
- Experience developing and managing an overall marketing strategy.
- Strong B2B marketing experience.
- Experience working with a CRM system.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, including PPC and SEO.
- Experience with email marketing and campaign management.
- Strong written communication and content creation skills.
- Experience with marketing analytics, reporting and performance measurement.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong commercial mindset with a focus on enquiries, conversions, sales opportunities and ROI.
- Comfortable working with Directors, sales/business development teams, developers, agencies and other marketing staff.
Highly Desirable:
- Previous HubSpot experience.
- Experience managing or coordinating external marketing agencies and specialists.
- B2B experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure, piling or another technical industry.
- Practical graphic design and creative skills.
- Experience with Webflow or working closely with web developers.
- Experience supporting tendering, bids and business development.
- Experience managing or mentoring junior marketing team members.

- Estimating experience across Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Toshiba and LG systems.
- Experience with VRF / VRV heat recovery arrangements and BS/branch selector boxes.
- Strong understanding of refrigeration installation and commissioning procedures.
- Experience estimating complete AC containment and support requirements.
Who You Are:
During the initial period, the successful candidate will be expected to:
- Complete the handover from the previous Marketing Manager.
- Understand the existing marketing strategy, activity and performance.
- Establish working relationships with the external PPC/SEO specialist and Webflow developer.
- Review the current HubSpot setup, CRM data and reporting.
- Support and establish processes for the new social media team member.
- Review current marketing performance and identify immediate opportunities.
- Agree a clear 90-day marketing action plan with the Directors.
