Legal Assistant (U.S. Immigration & AOS)

Job Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant with hands-on U.S. immigration experience to support their immigration law firm. In this role, you will independently handle much of the day-to-day case preparation and client follow-up. The ideal candidate is comfortable with technology, eager to learn new systems and automations, and does not require extensive training on basic immigration forms and case preparation.

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Central Standard Time, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities:

  • Drafting USCIS forms, particularly marriage-based green card/AOS cases.
  • Reviewing client documents and evidence for completeness.
  • Following up with clients regarding missing documents and information.
  • Preparing and organizing filing packages.
  • Drafting routine client emails and case communications.
  • Maintaining case files and ensuring cases continue moving forward.
  • Working within case management systems and following established workflows/SOPs.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on U.S. immigration experience (does not require extensive training on basic immigration forms and case preparation).
  • Proficiency with legal case management software.
  • Strong adaptability to learn new automation tools and workflows quickly.
  • Sharp attention to detail in auditing evidence packages, flagging discrepancies, and tracking hard deadlines across multiple active cases.
