Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic HR Manager to oversee the end-to-end human resources function across multiple operating entities. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will supervise administrative HR staff, implement organizational policies, manage employee relations, and enforce labor law compliance across Washington and California.
Client Overview
Our client is a multi-entity family services organization operating across Washington and California. Dedicated to operational excellence, transparency, and sustainable community impact, they provide critical health and human services across local markets. To support their growing workforce, maintain regulatory compliance, and drive strategic talent management, they are onboarding a dedicated remote HR Manager to lead their human resources division.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM PST, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)
Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership & Policy Implementation
- Oversee and streamline end-to-end HR operations across Washington and California entities.
- Provide direct leadership and oversight to existing administrative HR team members.
- Develop, update, and enforce company policies, employee handbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure strict adherence to federal, state (WA & CA), and local employment laws and industry regulations.
Employee Relations, Onboarding & Performance Management
- Lead end-to-end onboarding and offboarding workflows to deliver a professional employee experience.
- Manage employee relations, resolve workplace conflicts, and support department managers on staffing matters.
- Oversee performance appraisal systems, goal-setting processes, and professional development initiatives.
- Maintain complete, audit-ready personnel records and compliance documentation in the HRIS/CRM.
Requirements
- Strategic HR Expertise: Proven track record in senior or managerial HR roles overseeing full-cycle human resources functions.
- Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and supervise administrative HR staff members effectively in a remote environment.
- Compliance & Multi-State Regulations: Strong expertise in labor law compliance, personnel documentation, and policy implementation—specifically across Washington and California state frameworks.
- Interpersonal & Leadership Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, conflict resolution skills, and the confidence to collaborate closely with executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Technical Stack & Tools: HRIS & Payroll (BambooHR / Gusto / ADP / Client HR Portals); Communication & Collaboration (Google Workspace, Slack/Teams, Zoom); Document & Productivity (Microsoft Office 365, Google Drive - Secure Compliance Storage).
- Industry Context (Preferred): Prior HR leadership experience in health and human services, family support, or care-related sectors is a strong advantage.
