Are you a certified QuickBooks expert with a proven track record of managing full-cycle client accounting across multiple industries?

Our team is actively seeking a QuickBooks Certified Full Charge Bookkeeper – Client Accounting Services to deliver accurate, high-level financial management for a diverse client portfolio. To excel in this role, you will need 2–4 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience—ideally within a CPA firm or outsourced CAS environment—paired with an active QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification. We are looking for a detailed-oriented professional skilled in multi-industry accounting (ranging from hospitality to real estate), POS/merchant processor reconciliations, and third-party payroll integration (ADP, Paychex, Gusto). Beyond day-to-day ledger management, you will play a crucial role in preparing clean, reliable accounting workpapers tailored specifically for year-end tax preparation.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Eastern Time, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger & Bookkeeping: Maintain complete accounting records in QuickBooks Online, record/classify financial transactions, post journal entries, and resolve duplicate or missing entries.
  • Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations: Reconcile all bank, credit card, and liability accounts on a timely basis, investigating stale transactions and ensuring balances match supporting statements.
  • Revenue & Sales Recording: Record and reconcile client sales activity from POS systems, merchant processors, and sales reports against bank deposits.
  • Payroll Accounting: Record third-party payroll activity (e.g., ADP, Gusto), allocate wages and employer taxes, and reconcile payroll clearing and liability accounts.
  • Balance Sheet & Financial Review: Reconcile balance sheet accounts (A/R, A/P, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, loans) and prepare accurate monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet statements.
  • Month-End & Year-End Close: Execute standardized close checklists, complete quarterly procedures, and prepare clean year-end financial books and supporting schedules for the tax team.
  • Client & Internal Communication: Prepare lists of open items requiring client clarification, follow up on missing documentation, and escalate material accounting issues to management.

Requirements:

  • 2–4 years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and cloud-based accounting platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience with general ledger maintenance, debits/credits, accruals, bank/credit card reconciliations, and payroll accounting.
  • Solid understanding of financial statement preparation and ability to independently identify and correct accounting errors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal teams and clients efficiently.
  • High level of accuracy, analytical thinking, and organizational skills to manage multi-client workloads and recurring deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification.
  • Prior experience in a CPA firm, outsourced accounting practice, or Client Accounting Services (CAS) environment.
  • Multi-industry experience, including hospitality, retail, professional services, construction, or real estate.
  • Experience reconciling POS systems, merchant processors, or third-party payroll tools (ADP, Paychex, Gusto).
  • Experience preparing accounting workpapers specifically for year-end tax preparation.
