Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive Legal Assistant (Personal Injury & Family Law) to support attorneys across criminal, personal injury, and family law matters in a full-time remote role. You will manage and organize case files using Clio and OneDrive, conduct legal research, and independently draft pleadings and correspondence for attorney review. Additionally, you will oversee court calendars, link Outlook email communications with case management tools, and ensure all filing deadlines are met. Strong attention to detail and prior legal support experience are required to manage workflows efficiently.
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM EST with 1 hr unpaid break (40 hrs per week)
Responsibilities
- Manage and organize case files within Clio, ensuring deadlines, tasks, and diary entries are accurate and up to date.
- Manage and organize case files within OneDrive, ensuring cohesiveness and uniformity within system, tasks, and diary entries are accurate and up to date.
- Conduct legal research and compile case-relevant materials to support criminal, personal injury, and family law matters.
- Draft legal pleadings, correspondence, letters, emails, and documents independently for attorney review and approval.
- Anticipate next steps in active cases by proactively identifying investigative work, discovery follow-ups, and outstanding items, with workflow and task management.
- Legal scheduling - maintain calendar for upcoming court cases, events, deadlines, appointments.
- OUTLOOK - LINKING FILES with Clio, properly respond to emails, daily.
Must-Have Requirements
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or in a similar legal support role.
- Proficiency in Clio, OneDrive, and Microsoft Outlook, including file management, document organization, and email correspondence.
- Experience managing case files, legal deadlines, court schedules, appointments, and task tracking.
- Strong legal research and document drafting skills, including pleadings, correspondence, letters, and legal documents.
- Familiarity with criminal law, personal injury law, and family law.
- Ability to independently draft legal documents for attorney review and approval.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when maintaining case records, calendars, and documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
- Strong understanding of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive legal information.
