US Insurance Appointment Setter (High-Volume Outbound Calling)

Overview:

Our client is an established personal and commercial insurance agency based in Portland, Oregon, with a database of thousands of prospects built over the past decade. They are expanding their outbound sales team and are looking for an experienced US Insurance Appointment Setter (High-Volume Outbound Calling) who can consistently work through a large CRM database, engage prospects, reactivate older leads, qualify opportunities, and transfer warm prospects to the in-house sales team.

Your primary responsibility is to make high-volume outbound calls, create meaningful conversations, qualify prospects, handle objections, and generate qualified appointments or warm transfers for the insurance sales team. This is not a script-reading position. We need someone who understands insurance conversations, can build rapport quickly, ask the right questions, and confidently move prospects toward the next step.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM PST | With a 1-hour break

Note: Can be flexible and open to adjusting the time frame within the day

Responsibilities:

  • Make high-volume outbound calls daily to prospects within the company's established CRM database
  • Contact both recent and aged insurance leads to generate new opportunities
  • Reactivate older prospects and determine whether they have current insurance needs
  • Engage prospects in conversations around their existing insurance coverage and potential quote opportunities
  • Qualify prospects based on interest, timing, needs, and readiness to speak with an insurance sales professional
  • Handle objections, hesitation, and common prospect questions professionally
  • Set qualified appointments or transfer warm prospects directly to the in-house insurance sales team
  • Follow up with prospects according to established sales cadence and drip campaigns
  • Maintain consistent daily call activity and appointment-setting targets
  • Accurately document calls, outcomes, notes, and lead status in the CRM
  • Maintain organized follow-up schedules so qualified prospects are not lost
  • Work closely with the sales team to improve lead quality and conversion

Must-Have Requirements:

  • Previous professional experience in the insurance industry is REQUIRED
  • Proven experience in insurance sales, insurance appointment setting, insurance telemarketing, or insurance lead generation
  • Strong understanding of insurance terminology and the general insurance sales process
  • Proven experience making high-volume outbound calls
  • Excellent English communication and a confident, professional phone presence
  • Strong rapport-building and conversational skills
  • Ability to handle rejection and objections consistently
  • Comfortable speaking with prospects throughout most of the workday
  • Proven ability to meet call-volume, appointment-setting, or sales activity targets
  • Experience working with CRM systems and lead pipelines
  • Strong follow-up and lead-nurturing skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Reliable internet connection and professional home-office setup

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Personal lines or commercial insurance experience
  • Background working with U.S. insurance prospects
  • Familiarity with insurance quote generation or lead qualification
  • Track record in aged-lead reactivation
  • Proficiency with CRM drip campaigns and automated follow-up
  • Previous exposure to transferring warm leads to licensed insurance agents or closers
  • Proven ability to work with large prospect databases

What We're Looking For?

  • The ideal candidate is an experienced insurance outbound specialist, not a general appointment setter
  • You should be comfortable spending hours on the phone, making a high volume of calls, navigating objections, re-engaging older leads, and consistently creating qualified opportunities for the sales team
  • Insurance experience, high-volume outbound calling, and strong communication are the three core requirements for this role

Independent Contractor Perks:

  • Permanent work from home
  • Immediate hiring
  • Health Insurance Coverage for eligible locations
