Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Data Analyst to manage and streamline our recurring financial reporting infrastructure across NetSuite, BigQuery, Google Sheets, Apps Script, and Excel VBA. In this full-time remote role, you will execute monthly close tie-outs, maintain automated data pipelines, and draft executive-level variance commentary. You will also manage master data mappings and actively work to optimize codebase efficiency and reporting workflows. Strong financial literacy, intermediate SQL skills, and advanced Excel/VBA expertise are required.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 9 AM - 6 PM EST with 1 hr unpaid break (40 hrs per week)

Responsibilities

• FP&A Dashboard & Budget vs. Actuals: Run full monthly refreshes across Apps Script and BigQuery, tie the channel P&L back to NetSuite actuals, clear unallocated balances, and produce the monthly budget versus actuals pack with first-pass variance commentary.
• Revenue Reporting: Draft weekly revenue recaps, explain account variances above established thresholds, and maintain brand-specific Gross Revenue Trackers (GRTs) while verifying order shipping statuses.
• Data Pipelines & Syncs: Manage weekly and monthly retailer door sales syncs using Excel and VBA calculations, and produce monthly clinic KPI reports utilizing Boulevard service category mappings.
• Shipping & Profitability: Execute monthly shipping file checks, classify job tickets, manage 3PL billing accuracy, and update SKU gross margin (GM) reports.
• Calculators & Scenarios: Run monthly and quarterly field and sales team bonus calculators, and maintain the international pricing calculator to test new market and SKU scenarios based on VAT, Tariff, and FX logic.
• Master Data & Database Support: Own master tables (customer, vendor, employee) and GL account groupings, ensuring new records are onboarded ahead of each close. Operate and extend NetSuite and third-party file loads into BigQuery, actively monitoring for schema changes and failed loads.
• Process Documentation & Continuity: Keep the internal reporting portal (HUB) current and create reliable, written runbooks for every recurring process to ensure seamless coverage by a second person.
• Conduct a full function inventory of the Apps Script codebase to eliminate duplicate logic and mystery functions.
• Develop caching layers to replace repeated live queries, reducing query costs and ensuring trend charts match P&L methodologies.
• Deploy channel splits and allocation logic, and introduce new guard checks on inbound retailer and logistics files.
• Propose new solutions to remove manual steps or simplify mapping logic, providing estimated time savings for each proposal.

Must-Have Requirements

• Experience: 4+ years preferred in FP&A, financial reporting, business analytics, or finance shared services.
• Financial Literacy: The ability to independently read a P&L, with a strong understanding of debits and credits, accruals, gross-to-net revenue, COGS, and gross margin.
• Technical Proficiency: Intermediate SQL skills (Joins, CTEs, aggregation, window functions) alongside advanced Google Sheets/Excel knowledge (Array formulas, QUERY, XLOOKUP, Power Query).
• VBA Expertise: Strong VBA skills with the ability to read, debug, and extend existing macro-driven calculation workbooks.
• Adaptability: A demonstrated ability to self-teach new languages or tools, specifically JavaScript/Google Apps Script, which powers most of the reporting layer.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written English skills to accurately document processes and draft executive-level commentary.
• Work Ethic: A self-starter mentality with reliable attendance, a track record of self-directed automation, and comfort proactively escalating issues.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

• Familiarity with BigQuery, including partitioning and query cost awareness.
• Experience with NetSuite or comparable ERPs, particularly pulling saved searches and standard exports.
• Industry background in beauty, CPG, or retail, including exposure to retailer sell-in/sell-through data or 3PL billing.
• Business Intelligence literacy (Looker Studio, Power BI, or Tableau).
• Knowledge of Python for file handling, or version control habits like Git.
