Estimator (Construction Takeoff Software)

Job Overview:

Our client is hiring an Estimator (Construction Takeoff Software) to support commercial construction bidding and proposal preparation, with a strong focus on Division 9 finishes, particularly drywall and metal stud framing. This role is responsible for reviewing bid documents, performing detailed quantity take-offs, and preparing proposal letters for submission. The ideal candidate brings hands-on estimating experience in commercial new construction and renovation projects and can work independently with minimal supervision.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, flexible schedule during Eastern Time business hours; Part-time, 20 work hours per week

Responsibilities:

  • Review bid documents, including plans, specifications, and related project requirements.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs for commercial construction projects.
  • Prepare proposal letters and supporting bid documents for submission.
  • Analyze Division 9 scopes of work, with emphasis on drywall and metal stud framing.
  • Support estimating activities across both new construction and renovation projects.
  • Organize and maintain estimating files, take-off documentation, and proposal support materials.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure bid accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator on commercial construction projects.
  • Strong experience with quantity take-offs and bid document review.
  • Experience in both commercial new construction and renovation work.
  • A high level of experience in Division 9 finishes the scope of work.
  • Strong knowledge of drywall and metal stud framing construction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Proficiency with takeoff software used in construction estimating.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience performing quantity take-offs on commercial projects.
  • Experience using PlanSwift.
  • Experience using On-Screen Takeoff.
  • Experience using Bluebeam.
  • Familiarity with Procore.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize information and manage multiple bid deadlines.
  • Clear written communication for proposal preparation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time setup.
