Strategic IT Procurement | Managed Services | Vendor Strategy
Help shape how technology is sourced, managed, and optimized across a growing Managed Services environment.
About the Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced IT Procurement & Vendor Management Manager to lead the strategy behind how technology, software, cloud solutions, and IT services are sourced and managed across the business.
This is more than a purchasing role. You will be responsible for building strong technology vendor relationships, negotiating strategic agreements, optimizing costs, managing licensing and renewals, and ensuring the business has the right technology available at the right time and at the right value.
You will work closely with IT teams, account managers, leadership, and technology partners to translate business and client requirements into effective procurement strategies.
If you enjoy negotiating with technology vendors, finding smarter ways to purchase and manage IT, and using data to drive commercial decisions, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
What You Will Own
Strategic IT Procurement
- Develop and execute IT procurement strategies aligned with business and client requirements.
- Lead the sourcing and procurement of hardware, software, cloud services, and IT solutions.
- Identify and evaluate vendors, distributors, and technology partners.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, licensing agreements, warranties, and SLAs to achieve strong commercial outcomes.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with major technology providers, including Microsoft, AWS, Cisco, Dell, HP, and other technology partners.
Vendor & Commercial Management
- Own the ongoing relationship with key IT vendors and service providers.
- Evaluate vendor performance, pricing, service quality, and contractual commitments.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate vendors, improve commercial terms, and reduce unnecessary spend.
- Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and commercial reviews.
- Ensure vendor relationships continue to support business growth and client requirements.
IT Purchasing & Asset Management
- Oversee procurement of IT equipment, software licenses, and cloud services.
- Partner with internal IT and client-facing teams to forecast demand and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Ensure technology is available when needed while avoiding unnecessary inventory and expenditure.
- Support effective management of IT assets, licenses, renewals, and purchasing workflows.
Licensing, Compliance & Risk
- Manage software licensing and renewal requirements to ensure compliance and cost efficiency.
- Monitor vendor contracts, obligations, warranties, and SLAs.
- Identify and mitigate procurement and third-party vendor risks.
- Ensure procurement practices align with company policies, security requirements, and applicable regulations.
Data, Analytics & Optimization
- Use procurement data and KPIs to identify purchasing trends and cost-saving opportunities.
- Track vendor performance, procurement efficiency, spend, and savings.
- Develop regular reporting and insights for senior leadership.
- Leverage procurement, ERP, and IT asset management platforms to improve visibility and streamline processes.
What Success Looks Like
In this role, success means:
- Better commercial outcomes through strategic negotiation and vendor management.
- Reduced technology spend without compromising quality or service.
- Stronger and more strategic relationships with technology partners.
- Improved visibility into IT spend, licenses, renewals, inventory, and vendor performance.
- Efficient procurement processes that support both internal operations and client needs.
- Reduced risk around contracts, licensing, and third-party relationships.
- A procurement function that operates as a strategic business partner, not simply a purchasing function.
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in IT procurement, technology procurement, vendor management, or supply chain roles.
- Experience within an MSP, IT services, technology, or similar environment is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of:
- IT hardware procurement
- Software licensing
- Cloud services
- IT vendor management
- Technology supply chains
- Experience managing relationships and commercial agreements with major technology vendors.
- Experience with enterprise technology agreements such as Microsoft CSP, VMware, AWS, Cisco, or similar.
- Strong negotiation and commercial management skills.
- Experience using procurement software, ERP platforms, and/or IT asset management tools.
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, IT, Business Administration, or a related field.
The Profile We Are Looking For
You are a commercially minded technology procurement professional who understands that procurement is not simply about getting the lowest price.
You know how to evaluate value, risk, quality, service, scalability, and long-term vendor relationships.
You are comfortable negotiating with technology providers, working with technical teams, analyzing data, and communicating recommendations to leadership.
Most importantly, you are proactive, analytical, commercially savvy, and comfortable taking ownership of the procurement lifecycle from sourcing through negotiation, contracting, renewal, and vendor performance.
Why This Opportunity
This is an opportunity to have real ownership over the technology procurement function and influence how the business manages one of its most important operational areas.
You will work across technology, finance, operations, account management, and leadership, giving you broad exposure and the opportunity to directly influence cost optimization, vendor strategy, and operational efficiency.
If you are ready to move beyond transactional purchasing and take ownership of strategic IT procurement and vendor management, we would love to hear from you.
