Job Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Podcast Production Assistant & Editor for a part-time position (20 hours per week). This role is centered heavily on research, guest outreach, calendar coordination, and basic audio/video editing within established brand systems and style guides.
The ideal candidate has a strong academic or analytical background (e.g., History, Economics, Political Science) and a keen interest in substantive, editorial-style content (specifically around women's health). You will work closely with pre-set templates provided by our client's branding agency. Tone and quality are paramount: content must be credible, serious, and scholarly—avoiding flashy, advertorial, or promotional styles.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM ADT (20 work hours per week)
Responsibilities
Guest Research & Pool Expansion
- Expand the pool of potential podcast guests based on pre-defined profiles and seeded lists (e.g., feminist economists, reproductive endocrinologists, health researchers).
- Perform background research on potential guests to support episode prep.
Outreach, Scheduling & Calendar Management
- Lead outreach and communication to prospective guests.
- Handle interview scheduling, prioritizing morning interview blocks for the host.
- Maintain clear tracking and follow-up discipline for all guest communications.
Audio & Episode Editing
- Cleanly cut and post podcast episodes using pre-established, reusable templates and guidelines.
- Ensure clean audio quality and adherence to brand formatting standards.
Social Media Clip Creation & Posting
- Cut concise, high-quality video/audio clips for social media channels.
- Focus clip creation on reaching and growing our core target demographic rather than chasing viral moments.
Workflow & Systems Execution
- Strictly adhere to style guides and system templates supplied by the marketing agency.
- Deliver consistent, reliable execution on deadlines.
Requirements
- Academic/Educational Background: Degree or coursework in History, Economics, Political Science, or a related analytical field preferred. Strong interest in women's health and research-heavy topics.
- Skills & Experience:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for guest outreach.
- Strong administrative, scheduling, and calendar management skills.
- Basic audio editing skills with the ability to quickly learn template-based editing workflows.
- Sharp attention to detail, reliability, and respect for deadlines.
- Comfortable working within structured templates without needing to add unscripted creative or design flourish.
- Tone & Mindset: Serious, academic, nerdy, and methodical.
Independent Contractor Perks
- Permanent work from home
- Immediate hiring
