Job Overview

Our client is looking for a German Content Moderator to serve as the human decision-maker in an AI-assisted content moderation system. In this role, you will review flagged social media content that the system cannot definitively judge, determine whether it violates German criminal law, and decide whether to escalate cases to platforms.

Our client is a legal technology company that has developed an AI-powered moderation tool for social media platforms. The system monitors social media content and identifies potential violations of German criminal law. The company operates at the intersection of technology, law, and social media compliance, working to ensure platform content adheres to legal standards.

Schedule

Flexible, meeting 1 day a week for alignment (Minimum 20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Review queued social media content flagged by the AI moderation system for potential legal violations
• Assess whether content violates specific German criminal law statutes
• Make yes or no decisions on whether content should be classified as illegal
• Determine whether flagged content should be forwarded to the platform for action
• Work through the moderation queue using the company's proprietary tool interface
• Evaluate engine assessments and platform responses for escalated cases
• Participate in weekly check-ins to discuss cases, improvements, and ongoing issues
• Process cases efficiently as they appear automatically in the moderation queue

Requirements

• Native or near-native fluency in German with strong comprehension of nuance, context, and cultural references
• Strong understanding of German criminal law and what constitutes illegal content
• Excellent judgment and decision-making skills for content that falls into legal gray areas
• Comfortable working with content moderation tools and digital platforms

Qualifications

• Previous content moderation experience is a bonus
• Background in law, legal studies, or compliance is beneficial
• Experience working with AI-assisted tools or workflows is a bonus
• Comfortable reviewing potentially sensitive or offensive content objectively
