Senior Project/ Program Manager
Department: Project & Program Management
Level: Senior
Employment Type: Full-time
About the company
The company is a leading blockchain infrastructure company building technology that connects blockchains with real-world data, traditional systems, and other blockchain networks. They support applications across decentralized finance, tokenized assets, interoperability, and other onchain use cases.
We are looking for an experienced Project / Program Manager with 5+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in technology, software, fintech, blockchain, or a similarly fast-moving environment.
This role is suited to a delivery-focused programme professional who can operate strategically while maintaining strong attention to execution. You will work across engineering, product, business development, operations, commercial, and other functions to turn strategic objectives into well-defined programmes and measurable outcomes.
You will be expected to bring structure to ambiguity, manage complex dependencies, engage confidently with senior stakeholders, identify and mitigate delivery risks, and create the operating rhythm required to deliver programmes successfully.
The Role
As a Project / Program Manager, you will take end-to-end ownership of strategic and cross-functional initiatives.
You will operate as a central point of coordination across multiple teams, ensuring that programme objectives, priorities, dependencies, risks, resources, and timelines remain aligned.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in an environment where requirements can evolve rapidly and where programmes may involve highly technical subject matter. You should be able to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders without needing to be the technical subject-matter expert.
You will be expected to lead through influence rather than authority, establish clarity in ambiguous situations, and ensure that teams remain focused on outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Leadership
- Own the end-to-end planning and delivery of complex, cross-functional programmes.
- Translate strategic objectives into clear programme goals, roadmaps, milestones, deliverables, and success measures.
- Establish programme governance, operating rhythms, decision-making processes, and reporting structures.
- Coordinate multiple interconnected projects and workstreams to ensure alignment against overall programme objectives.
- Manage programme dependencies across engineering, product, operations, commercial, legal, finance, and other functions.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, sequence, or restructure initiatives to improve delivery outcomes.
- Ensure programmes remain aligned with organisational priorities as requirements and circumstances evolve.
Delivery & Execution
- Drive execution against agreed milestones, outcomes, budgets, and timelines.
- Maintain appropriate programme plans, roadmaps, RAID logs, dependency maps, and decision registers.
- Establish clear ownership and accountability across programme workstreams.
- Identify delivery risks and issues early, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate appropriately.
- Remove blockers by coordinating the appropriate stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Monitor programme health and intervene when delivery is at risk.
- Lead retrospectives and post-programme reviews to identify lessons learned and improve future delivery.
- Establish and continuously improve project and programme management practices across the organisation.
Stakeholder Management
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and functional leaders.
- Provide concise, transparent, and actionable programme reporting to leadership.
- Facilitate difficult conversations around priorities, dependencies, risks, resourcing, and timelines.
- Ensure decisions are made at the appropriate level and clearly communicated to affected teams.
- Translate complex technical or operational information into clear business-level insights.
- Align stakeholders with different objectives around common programme outcomes.
- Act as a trusted delivery partner to programme sponsors and senior leadership.
Strategic Planning
- Partner with leadership to define programme objectives, priorities, scope, and measures of success.
- Support portfolio-level planning and prioritisation.
- Identify cross-programme dependencies, resource constraints, and strategic risks.
- Develop programme roadmaps that balance strategic ambition with realistic execution.
- Use data, metrics, and stakeholder feedback to assess programme performance and inform decisions.
- Help shape organisational processes and operating models as the company scales.
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- 5+ years of professional experience in project management, programme management, product operations, consulting, technology delivery, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience leading complex, cross-functional programmes from initiation through delivery.
- Experience working with engineering, product, technology, or other highly technical teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and dependencies simultaneously.
- Experience operating with senior leadership and providing executive-level programme reporting.
- Strong understanding of programme governance, risk management, dependency management, and delivery methodologies.
- Demonstrable experience managing ambiguity and bringing structure to complex or evolving initiatives.
- Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Track record of influencing and driving outcomes without direct line-management authority.
- Experience operating in a remote, distributed, and international organisation.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within blockchain, Web3, fintech, financial services, SaaS, infrastructure, or emerging technology.
- Experience working within Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid delivery environments.
- Experience with programme portfolio management.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Slack, Asana, or equivalent platforms.
- Formal project/programme management qualification such as PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, AgilePM, Scrum, or equivalent is a plus
- Working knowledge of blockchain infrastructure, smart contracts, DeFi, tokenization, interoperability, or Web3.
Leadership & Working Style
We are looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with exceptional execution.
Creates clarity from ambiguity
You are comfortable entering situations where the objectives, ownership, requirements, or timelines are not yet fully defined. You bring structure, ask the right questions, establish accountability, and create a practical path forward.
Takes ownership
You take responsibility for outcomes rather than simply managing tasks. You proactively identify risks, address issues, and ensure that commitments are followed through.
Leads through influence
You can bring together senior stakeholders, engineers, product leaders, and business teams around a common objective without relying on formal authority.
Communicates with precision
You know what different stakeholders need to know and can communicate complex information clearly, concisely, and appropriately for the audience.
Thinks strategically
You understand the relationship between individual projects and broader organisational objectives. You can move between detailed execution and high-level strategic thinking.
Challenges constructively
You are willing to challenge assumptions, question existing processes, and raise difficult issues when doing so improves the programme outcome.
Remains adaptable
The blockchain and technology landscape evolves rapidly. You can adjust plans when circumstances change while maintaining clarity around the underlying objectives.
Measures of Success
Success in this role will be demonstrated through your ability to:
- Successfully deliver complex programmes against agreed strategic objectives.
- Establish clear accountability across multiple teams and workstreams.
- Maintain strong programme visibility for senior leadership.
- Identify and mitigate material risks before they become critical delivery issues.
- Resolve complex cross-functional dependencies and unblock teams.
- Improve predictability, transparency, and quality of programme delivery.
- Build strong relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Develop scalable programme-management practices as the organisation grows.
- Create measurable improvements in programme outcomes, operational efficiency, or organisational capability.
- Become a trusted strategic delivery partner to senior leaders and programme sponsors.
What You Will Bring
You will bring the maturity to operate independently, the programme-management expertise to lead complex initiatives, and the curiosity to understand highly technical subject matter.
You don't need to be a blockchain engineer. You do need to be comfortable working alongside highly technical teams, asking intelligent questions, understanding dependencies and risks, and translating complex information into decisions and actions.
Most importantly, you will be someone who can connect strategy to execution — turning ambitious objectives into clear plans, aligning teams around those plans, and driving delivery through to measurable outcomes.
