Job Description
You will be the primary creative editor behind compelling documentary-style videos that drive donor engagement and fundraising for global humanitarian projects. Working directly with the founder, you will transform raw footage from international missions into engaging long-form stories that captivate viewers and build trust. This role offers high creative ownership, with opportunities to expand into short-form social content as media production scales.

Responsibilities
- Long-Form Documentary Editing: Edit long-form documentary videos detailing charitable projects, community installations, and overseas missions.
- Viewer Retention & Storytelling: Craft high-impact hooks and attention-grabbing openings within the first 30 seconds; build cohesive narratives from raw footage.
- Founder Collaboration: Work closely with the founder to translate creative vision into published video content aligned with brand guidelines.
- Production Standards: Maintain professional editing quality, balancing emotional human storytelling with factual transparency and donor trust.
- Content Scaling: Deliver publication-ready content on tight timelines, with potential expansion into short-form reels/clips for social platforms.
Must-Have Requirements
- Experience & Portfolio: Proven experience editing long-form documentary or narrative content, supported by a strong portfolio.
- Software Proficiency: Mastery of professional editing suites such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Adobe After Effects.
- Narrative & Hook Design: Demonstrated ability to construct strong narrative arcs, maintain audience retention, and build effective opening hooks.
- Turnaround Speed: Efficient editing capability—able to compile compelling sequences in hours rather than days.
- Self-Direction & Assessment: Ability to execute independently with minimal oversight and willingness to complete a short paid/sample editing test during the interview stage.
Nice-to-Have Requirements
- Experience editing video content for nonprofits, NGOs, or social impact organizations.
- Dual expertise in both long-form documentary storytelling and short-form video editing across platforms.
- Proven track record editing videos that achieved high viewership, viral reach, or strong engagement metrics.
- Familiarity with YouTube analytics, audience retention graphs, and thumbnail/title optimization strategies.
