Appointment Setter (Merchant Services)

Job Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Merchant Services Appointment Setter with direct experience selling credit card processing, merchant accounts, or payment processing solutions to business owners. This is not a general B2B appointment-setting position. The successful candidate must have a background in selling merchant services or payment solutions, understand how these products work, and be comfortable discussing payment processing with business owners and decision-makers. You will be responsible for identifying prospective businesses, conducting outbound calls, presenting the value of the company's payment solutions, qualifying prospects, and booking appointments for the sales team to close.

Client Overview

Our client is a growing Texas-based merchant services provider specializing in credit card processing and payment solutions for small and medium-sized businesses. The company is expanding its sales outreach across the Dallas–Austin–Waco region, focusing on service-based businesses such as tire shops, automotive repair shops, mechanics, and similar establishments. They offer straightforward, relationship-driven payment solutions designed to help business owners manage their payment processing needs.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Central Time, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and research small to medium-sized businesses within the target areas of Dallas, Austin, and Waco, Texas.
  • Conduct high-volume outbound calls to business owners and decision-makers.
  • Prospect target industries, particularly tire shops, automotive repair shops, mechanics, and other service-based businesses.
  • Introduce and communicate the benefits of merchant services, credit card processing, and payment solutions.
  • Qualify prospects based on their current payment processing arrangements, business requirements, interest, and potential fit.
  • Identify opportunities where businesses may benefit from alternative payment processing solutions.
  • Schedule qualified appointments and consultations for the sales closer.
  • Handle initial objections and engage business owners in meaningful conversations about their payment processing needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of calls, conversations, prospect details, and appointment outcomes in the CRM.
  • Track daily and weekly outreach activity, qualified leads, and appointments booked.
  • Focus on decision-makers and businesses with genuine potential for conversion, avoiding restaurants and other complex business categories outside the client's target market.

Requirements:

  • Mandatory: Direct experience selling merchant services, credit card processing, merchant accounts, or payment processing solutions.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in B2B sales, outbound prospecting, appointment setting, or merchant services sales.
  • Proven experience selling payment processing solutions directly to small and medium-sized business owners.
  • Strong understanding of merchant services, including credit card processing and merchant account solutions.
  • Demonstrable track record of generating leads, booking appointments, or closing merchant services accounts.
  • Experience cold calling business owners and engaging decision-makers.
  • Comfortable with high-volume outbound calling and performance-based targets.
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage leads, track conversations, and maintain an organized sales pipeline.

Qualifications:

  • Experience selling merchant services to automotive repair shops, tire shops, mechanics, and other service-based businesses.
  • Experience with payment processors, merchant acquiring, POS systems, payment gateways, or point-of-sale solutions.
  • Familiarity with interchange fees, transaction processing, merchant statements, processing rates, and payment solution comparisons.
  • Experience selling payment solutions to US-based businesses.
  • Existing familiarity with the Texas small-business market is an advantage.

  • Contributing directly to new merchant account acquisitions and revenue growth.
