Job Overview

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Draftsperson to produce accurate construction and design drawings for midsize residential projects, including knockdown rebuilds and multi-unit complexes.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 4 hours between 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM AEDT/AEST (20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate construction and design drawings for midsize residential projects including knockdown rebuilds and multi-unit complexes
• Draft plans in compliance with ACT and NSW building legislation and design rules
• Collaborate closely with the principal designer to translate project briefs into detailed technical drawings
• Maintain consistency and quality across all project documentation and drawing sets
• Proactively identify and flag potential design or compliance issues during the drafting process
• Prepare accurate, comprehensive reports and supporting documentation for building design submissions
• Support the business in freeing up capacity to pursue new revenue streams including property acquisition and design packaging
• Deliver drafting output that meets client and regulatory standards without requiring extensive rework
• Contribute to the firm's ability to scale its project volume and take on additional development work

Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
• Familiarity with Australian residential building codes and design legislation, particularly ACT and NSW
• Experience drafting for residential projects such as single dwellings and multi-unit developments
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote environment
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
