Job Description:

You’ll spearhead a sophisticated website migration and restructuring project for a complex e-commerce platform with hundreds of products and advanced meta-object integrations. This isn’t your typical Shopify build – you’ll be working with intricate data structures, coordinating phased rollouts to protect SEO rankings, and implementing strategic technical solutions that support a comprehensive business rebrand. You’ll collaborate directly with the CEO, giving you unprecedented visibility and influence over technical decisions that drive business outcomes.

 

Responsibilities:

• Restructure website navigation on the current Shopify 2.0 platform to optimize for Google SEO performance
• Build and implement a new Shopify theme while maintaining complex meta object integrations across hundreds of products
• Coordinate phased website updates and content migration to minimize Google ranking disruption
• Implement comprehensive redirect strategies and ensure seamless link functionality during transition phases
• Collaborate directly with the CEO to align technical solutions with strategic business objectives
• Manage project timelines and communicate progress on high-impact digital transformation initiatives
• Optimize site architecture for improved user experience and conversion performance
• Ensure all technical implementations support future scalability and business growth

 

Requirements:

• 3-5+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience with a proven track record on complex projects
• Advanced expertise with Shopify meta objects, liquid templating, and complex data structure management
• Strong understanding of SEO best practices during website migrations and major structural changes
• Excellent English communication skills for direct collaboration with executive leadership
• Experience with Shopify 2.0, modern theme development, and performance optimization
• Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple project phases and deadlines
• Bonus if you have experience with large-scale e-commerce migrations or rebranding projects
• It helps if you’re familiar with Australian business practices and timezone coordination
