Digital Marketing Strategist (Paid Media)

Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Digital Marketing Strategist to join their growing team. This role is ideal for a commercially minded digital marketer who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on campaign execution while confidently managing client relationships. You will work closely with clients to develop marketing strategies, manage advertising campaigns, present performance insights, and identify opportunities for growth. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, a professional client-facing presence, and experience working with Australian businesses.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, Flexible between 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Melbourne Time (20 work hours per week) Must be available to work within Australian business hours or maintain strong overlap with Australian time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize digital marketing campaigns across Google Ads, Meta Ads, Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and other platforms
  • Develop digital marketing strategies, campaign plans, and create proposals and recommendations aligned with client objectives
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, consultation, and presentation of results and insights
  • Prepare monthly performance reports, conduct account audits, and provide actionable growth recommendations
  • Manage campaign tracking, conversion tracking, tagging, and analytics implementation
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stay updated on industry trends to ensure successful campaign execution and client satisfaction

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing and paid media with client-facing or agency experience
  • Hands-on experience with Google Ads, Meta Ads, and campaign optimization
  • Strong strategic thinking, commercial awareness, and ability to manage client relationships confidently
  • Strong knowledge of tracking, analytics, tag management, and performance reporting
  • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken English) with experience presenting to clients
  • Highly organized, proactive, and solutions-focused with strong decision-making and ability to manage multiple priorities

Nice to have

  • Experience working with Australian businesses or clients is highly regarded.
  • Experience managing Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and Criteo campaigns is highly regarded.
  • Agency-side experience is highly regarded.
  • Experience preparing proposals and pitching digital marketing solutions is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio, and CRM platforms is highly regarded.
