Job Overview

You will work directly with the founder to develop, test, and optimize investment models using Python and Excel. This is a flexible, remote role where you'll have full ownership over your schedule—you'll be building backtesting frameworks, analyzing historical market data, and creating interactive dashboards that drive real investment decisions. Your work will directly impact the firm's ability to identify profitable trading strategies and make data-informed decisions in the stock market.

Flexible, Part-Time Eastern Time (Montreal, Canada)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python scripts for backtesting investment strategies against historical stock market data
• Build and optimize Excel models for financial analysis and investment performance tracking
• Create interactive dashboards using Power BI or Tableau to visualize investment data and analytics
• Parse and analyze large datasets from Excel databases and web services
• Automate data workflows to improve efficiency of investment research processes
• Collaborate directly with the founder to understand analytical requirements and deliver actionable insights
• Generate visual reports that translate complex financial data into clear, decision-ready formats
• Maintain and update existing analytical tools and models as market conditions evolve

Requirements

• Proven experience programming in Python for data analysis and automation
• Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced formulas, macros, and data manipulation
• Experience building dashboards in Power BI or Tableau
• Background in data analytics with the ability to work with large datasets
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision across different time zones
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in analytical work
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating remotely with the founder
