Job Overview

Our client is looking for an Operations Data Analyst to deliver operational data analysis, reporting, and data quality support across client and internal datasets. The role transforms operational and retail data into accurate, actionable insights through analysis, reporting, data quality management, and stakeholder support.

• Reports To: Operations Data Analyst Lead

Schedule Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Melbourne Time, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

*Note: May require occasional flexibility in working hours to support clients and internal teams across different time zones. While standard working hours will be observed, there may be instances where additional or altered hours are required to ensure seamless support and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Data Processing & Quality Control: Extract, structure, and validate operational datasets while maintaining accurate documentation and resolving or escalating data quality issues.
• Analysis & Reporting: Analyze operational and retail trends, generate insights, and build accurate dashboards and recurring reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Stakeholder & Help Desk Support: Triage and resolve internal/client data queries, communicate complex findings clearly to non-technical teams, and collaborate across departments to meet data needs.
• Process Automation & Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate recurring reporting tasks, and standardize operational procedures.
• Continuous Improvement & Learning: Monitor help desk query trends, stay informed on emerging analytics tools, and share knowledge to build team capability.
• Operational Standards & Collaboration: Maintain high service standards, follow internal administrative policies, foster positive cross-team relationships, and complete ad-hoc tasks as directed.

Requirements

• Experience using SQL and Power BI to analyse data and develop reports, dashboards, and visualisations.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and data manipulation techniques.
• Ability to work accurately with large operational datasets and to identify trends, anomalies, gaps, and data quality issues.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in data science, business analytics, statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a data analysis, reporting, or operational analytics role.
