Overview
Our client is looking for a creative and detail-oriented WordPress Website Developer to help maintain, improve, and expand their existing website. This hands-on role focuses on taking an established site and making thoughtful enhancements to its appearance, functionality, performance, and overall usability using Oxygen Builder. The ideal candidate combines a strong eye for design and user experience with technical expertise to build responsive new pages and resolve design issues.

Schedule: Full-time. Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pleasant Hill, CA time

Responsibilities

• Make revisions and enhancements to our existing WordPress website using Oxygen Builder (Oxygen Classic)
• Improve website UI/UX, navigation, page layouts, visual hierarchy, and overall user experience
• Create and optimize new & existing website pages and landing pages
• Modify existing Oxygen templates, sections, components, and layouts
• Ensure pages are fully responsive and function properly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
• Improve website usability
• Optimize pages for SEO, accessibility, and conversion (RankMath)
• Troubleshoot and resolve WordPress, Oxygen, layout, and responsive-design issues
• Maintain consistency with existing branding, fonts, colors, spacing, and design standards
• Work with existing WordPress plugins and integrations as needed
• Identify opportunities to improve the website and proactively recommend enhancements
• Test website changes in Kinsta Sandbox Development Environment before publishing to ensure functionality and proper display across devices and browsers

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience developing websites using Oxygen Builder for WordPress (Oxygen Classic)
• Strong working knowledge of WordPress
• Demonstrated experience modifying and building pages in Oxygen Classic
• Understanding of HTML and CSS
• Working knowledge of responsive web design
• Understanding of basic JavaScript is a plus
• Understanding of SEO fundamentals and on-page optimization
• Strong attention to detail and visual design
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple website tasks
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and find practical solutions
• Oxygen Classic Experience Is Required. Please do not apply if your experience is exclusively with Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, Native Gutenberg, or other Non-Oxygen WordPress builders.
• Candidates must have actual hands-on experience working with Oxygen Classic and should be comfortable making changes to an existing Oxygen-based website.
