IT Network & Cloud Infrastructure Administrator (Microsoft Azure)

Overview:

Our client is looking for an IT Network & Cloud Infrastructure Administrator (Microsoft Azure) to manage, maintain, and optimise the organisation’s IT network and infrastructure. The role focuses on Microsoft Azure, SD-WAN, LAN, VPN, Intune, and IT security, while providing Tier 2/3 technical support and coordinating with vendors to resolve infrastructure issues. The ideal candidate is highly independent, organised, and adaptable, with the flexibility to respond to critical infrastructure needs outside standard working hours when required.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Note: Flexibility to work overtime or outside regular hours when required for operational or infrastructure needs

Responsibilities:

Azure & Cloud Administration

  • Manage, monitor, and optimise Microsoft Azure resources and services
  • Support the design and implementation of scalable Azure solutions aligned with business requirements
  • Monitor Azure performance, usage, and costs and identify opportunities for optimisation
  • Ensure Azure environments comply with security, governance, and internal IT policies
  • Respond to user and system issues within agreed service levels

Network & Infrastructure Management

  • Administer and maintain Azure, VPN, SD-WAN, LAN, and network infrastructure
  • Monitor network performance and traffic and proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Support VPN, firewall, routing, switching, and connectivity configurations
  • Manage and maintain hybrid infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments
  • Work with vendors and service providers to troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and infrastructure issues
  • Support infrastructure upgrades, improvements, and technology initiatives

General IT Administration & Support

  • Manage IT service tickets and ensure timely resolution of technical issues
  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support to internal users and escalate issues when required
  • Perform system updates, patching, backups, and disaster recovery activities
  • Monitor system health and proactively address performance or reliability issues
  • Support endpoint and device management, including Microsoft Intune
  • Participate in after-hours or out-of-shift support when required for critical incidents, maintenance, or infrastructure changes

Security & Compliance

  • Monitor and maintain IT security controls across network and infrastructure environments
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, audits, and remediation activities
  • Ensure infrastructure aligns with internal security policies, data protection requirements, and relevant compliance standards
  • Identify potential security risks and recommend appropriate improvements

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate documentation of network architecture, configurations, systems, and procedures
  • Prepare reports relating to system performance, incidents, infrastructure, and compliance
  • Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure reliability, security, and efficiency
  • Provide recommendations for infrastructure upgrades and improvements

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in IT systems or infrastructure administration
  • Proven experience administering Microsoft Azure environments
  • Experience managing SD-WAN and LAN infrastructure within a multi-site environment
  • Proficiency in network troubleshooting, VPNs, firewalls, routing, and switching
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune and endpoint management is highly regarded
  • Background in working with external IT vendors and service providers
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to urgent technical issues

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including administration, architecture, security, and cost management
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Meraki switching, architecture, and management
  • Solid understanding of SD-WAN, LAN, VPN, firewall, routing, and network technologies
  • Understanding of hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of IT security principles and compliance requirements
