Worker's Compensation New Patient Coordinator

Role Overview:

You will serve as a key point of coordination for workers' compensation case management, handling all administrative aspects of treatment authorizations and physician referrals. Your primary focus is ensuring timely follow-up on pending and revised authorizations, processing determinations, and maintaining accurate case trackers. You will also manage daily communication—both email and phone—while distributing essential medical reports and work status updates. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to keep multiple cases moving forward efficiently.

Schedule:

  • Mondays to Fridays, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (US Pacific Time) with a 30-minute unpaid break (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities:

  • Handle extension requests for ongoing treatments or services
  • Handle all revised authorizations for out-of-office referrals
  • Follow up on pending and revised authorizations
  • Follow up on: Secondary Treating Physician (STP) requests, Primary Treating Physician (PTP) requests
  • Process all determinations received by EDATA
  • Send Work Status (WS) reports and Medical Records (MRs) from the end-of-day list
  • Update WC TRACKERS
  • Respond to incoming emails and answer incoming phone calls

Requirements:

  • HMO and PPO or insurance experience is a plus.
  • MUST HAVE A DUAL MONITOR SET-UP 
  • MUST HAVE A FREE ADOBE ACCOUNT
  • MUST HAVE A QUIET WORKING ENVIRONMENT
  • Must have experience in the medical field or healthcare industry.
  • Good communication is the key to success.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams
  • Experience with Jot Forms or similar software is preferred, but not required
