Bookkeeper (MYOB)

Bookkeeper | Hospitality & Accommodation | Remote

Role Name: Bookkeeper

Client overview

Our client is an established hospitality and accommodation business operating across Australia, providing quality short- and long-stay experiences to a diverse guest base. With a growing portfolio of properties and an expanding team, they are committed to delivering exceptional service while maintaining sound financial operations. They are now seeking a detail-oriented remote bookkeeper to support their finance function directly under the business owner.

Job description

You will take full ownership of the day-to-day financial operations for a busy hospitality business, managing everything from accounts payable and receivable to bank reconciliations and supplier correspondence. Working directly with the business owner in a part-time remote capacity, you will keep the books accurate, up to date, and audit-ready — using MYOB as your primary platform. You will be the financial backbone that ensures cash flow stays healthy, payments are made and collected on time, and the business owner has clear visibility of financial activity through regular end-of-day reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections
  • Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records
  • Record and categorize financial transactions within MYOB accurately and consistently
  • Communicate with suppliers to follow up on outstanding payments and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Prepare and send invoices to clients and track payment status
  • Generate day-end reports summarizing completed tasks and financial activities

Must-have requirements

  • Proficiency in MYOB accounting software
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles including double-entry accounting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for supplier and client correspondence
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote environment
  • Prior experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounting support role

Nice-to-have requirements

  • Bonus if you have experience working with hospitality, accommodation, or property management businesses
  • It helps if you are comfortable handling professional correspondence via a company email and Australian phone number
  • Bonus if you have experience working in a part-time remote role with direct reporting to a senior stakeholder or business owner

Why join this team

  • 100% remote role — work from the comfort of your home with no commute
  • Part-time engagement (20 hours per week) offering work-life balance with real potential to grow into a full-time position
  • Report directly to the business owner — minimal bureaucracy, clear communication, and fast decision-making
  • Stable, long-term engagement with a well-established hospitality business
  • Work with a focused, lean team where your contributions have direct and visible impact on the business
